The following series of images feature my current style obsession, Evelyn Nesbit. Best known as one of illustrator Charles Dana Gibson’s beloved Gibson Girls (pictured above), Nesbit was considered the quintessential American beauty of the early 20th century. Her seemingly effortless style is so ethereal, and I’m loving the current reinvention of the Gibson Girl updo—the messy top knot! The look is classic, free-spirited, and oh so romantic.
I’ve switched from wearing lots of black, Victorian mourning inspired clothes to elegant ’50s and Edwardian inspired things, lots of off-white, lace, and hats.
I think it’s interesting how my tastes change.
